Zetter Townhouse Marylebone

Every cloud has a silver lining.

For example, while “an eye for an eye” would turn the whole world blind… at least everyone would get a dog; and while Chiltern Firehouse is almost impossible to get into… just around the corner, the Parlour cocktail lounge at Marylebone’s boutique hotel Zetter Townhouse isn’t — because not only do you not need a reservation, you can also just pop in for afternoon tea, or for a drink.

Which is good.

That drink will very likely come in the form of a cocktail – one of many signature creations carefully compiled by the Willy Wonkas of cocktail making, Matt Whiley (aka The Talented Mr. Fox, behind Scout) and Rich Woods (aka The Cocktail Guy, behind Lost Property Office). Say, a Healing Punch, with fig leaf Scotch, palo santo infusion and toasted rice milk punch.

Which is good.

This particular Zetter incarnation is the second townhouse bar from the group (who also own Moro); its walls are lined with a crammed collection of interesting art, antiques and collectibles like vintage writing desks, ceramics and architectural implements; and it’s located within a gigantic Georgian Townhouse.

Which is good.

That gigantic Georgian Townhouse is also a hotel. Meaning that if you accidentally have one too many cocktails whilst lounging by the open fireplace and ‘can’t quite make it home’, take solace in the knowledge that the penthouse suite occupies the whole top floor, has its own private staircase, dressing room and roof terrace, and comes complete with an outdoor roll top bath for only £684 per night.

Which is good. To know now.

NOTE: The Parlour at Zetter Townhouse Marylebone is open Tuesday-Saturday. You can just walk in, or alternatively, you can reserve a table at Seymour’s Parlour online HERE.
