Lincoln’s Inn Fields.

Beautifully tucked away opposite the Royal Courts Of Justice – where it peacefully rests, harmoniously sheltered from the animated bustle of the West End – it‘s survived The Great Fire Of London; hosted duelists and beheadings; and provided ample inspiration for Charles Dickens, who once described it as having become the London nook where “lawyers lie like maggots in nuts…”.

Dicko didn’t like lawyers.

This May, however – in a cultural and temporal Big Bang of wondrous proportions – The Fields are leaping headfirst into the 21st Century, by hosting the highly anticipated, month-long celebration of contemporary Italian style and culture that is The House Of Peroni.

Back bigger, better and bolder than before, The House is celebrating the start of summer by bringing Italian food and drink; art, design and fashion; immersive experiences; lazy brunches and Italian-style revelry to four floors of a beautiful period townhouse – consisting of four bars, a large terrace and a stunning top-floor Italian restaurant – that’s perched on the edge of the square.

Open from the 2nd to the 31st May, you can just pop along whenever you fancy. For free.

However a better idea would be to get into the Italian spirit of things, by doing it in style… Which means taking advantage of this early heads up by either nabbing a reservation at the top floor restaurant hosted by Bottega Wapping; booking a spot at The Art Of Gelato, where you’ll learn how to make your own Italian ice-cream; securing a place at Food Pairing Mixology (a masterclass in pairing cocktails with food); or reserving a table at the Italian Brunch Club, which’ll be combining ‘reworked’ classic Italian dishes with cocktails, live bands and DJs every Saturday.

Batti il ferro finché è caldo…..
